The perfect introduction to Turkey, we begin in magical Istanbul before heading across to the Gallipoli Battlefields and then down the Aegean coast. You'll see some incredible ruins and the amazing natural wonder of Pamukkale before we return to Istanbul via Bursa.
Istanbul - Cannakale - Kusadasi – Pamukkale - Istanbul
Day 1 - Saturday: Istanbul
Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 - Sunday: Istanbul (B)
Today go for a half-day guided tour of the Istanbul, the only city to span two continents and visit the Blue Mosque, St Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome.
Day 3 - Monday: Istanbul – Gallipoli Battlefields – Canakkale (B/D)
Drive to Canakkale, Enroute visit the WW1 battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, The Nek, Johnston's Jolly, original trenches and tunnels. Continue the drive to Canakkale.
Day 4 - Tuesday: Canakkale – Kusadasi (B/D)
Drive to Troy and its famed Trojan Horse, followed by a tour of the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Later drive to Kusadasi for overnight.
Day 5 - Wednesday: Kusadasi (B/D)
Full day guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Continue to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines.
Day 6 - Thursday: Kusadasi – Pamukkale (B/D)
Drive to Travertines, in Pamukkale and later tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. If time permits take a dip, amongst ancient columns, in the hot springs that were used in Roman times.
Day 7 - Friday: Pamukkale – Istanbul (B)
Drive to Istanbul, en route visit Bursa to visit the Green Mosque, Later drive to Istanbul for overnight.
Day 8 - Saturday: Istanbul (B)
Transfer to the airport.
Included: Accommodation in good 3.5 star or 4-star hotels, meals as specified, transport using aircon vehicles, local English speaking guides.
