Day 1: Seoul - Gyeongju
Pick up from Hotel and transfer to Gyeongju. Also known as ‘the museum without walls’, Gyeongju is a coastal city popular for holding more tombs, temples, pagodas, rock carvings, Buddhist statuary and palace ruins than any other place in South Korea. On arrival at Gyeongju visit Anapji Pond, this is an artificial pond in Gyeongju National Park.
Later, visit Tumuli Park, Cheomseongdae and National Gyeongju Museum. After the tour, transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight.
Tumuli Park: Located right in the centre of the town and also known as Daereungwon in Korean has large number of grassy regal, burial mounds. The tombs in question are known as Tumuli.
Cheomseongdae: Cheomseongdae is an astronomical observatory and the oldest surviving observatory in East Asia. Cheomseongdae means star-grazing platform in Korea. The tower is built out of 362 pieces of cut granite, which some claim represents the 362 days of the lunar year.
Gyeongju Museum: Representing Gyeongju, which was the capital city of the Silla Kingdom, you can view the cultural history of Gyeongju district inside the museum.
Day 2: Gyeongju - Seoul (B)
Today visit Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto before returning to Seoul.
Bulguksa Temple: Located on the slopes of mount Tohamsan Mountain, Bulguksa is a Buddhist temple complex that comprises a series of wooden buildings on raised stone terraces. The beauty of the temple itself and the artistic touch of the stone relics are known throughout the world.
Seokguram Grotto: The Seokguram Grotto is a hermitage and part of the Bulguksa temple complex. The grotto is artificially made of hundreds of granite stones, held together by stone rivets and no mortar.
