Athens (Piraeus) – Mykonos – Kusadasi – Patmos – Rhodes – Crete – Santorini – Athens
Day 1 (Mon): Athens (Lavrion) – Mykonos, Greece
Board Celestyal Olympia (or similar) this morning for dazzling five days cruise. Set sail for Mykonos, take in some sun or enjoy the ship’s varied facilities. Arrive Mykonos early evening to view the sunset. You’re free to step ashore and experience first-hand the island’s famous nightlife. Set sail at 11pm bound for Turkey.
Day 2 (Tue): Kusadasi, Turkey – Patmos, Greece
Kusadasi’s downtown area is filled with restaurants, cafes and a plethora of shops and bazaars. See a mesmerising Turkish carpet display whilst sipping apple tea, search for gold and colourful jewels – all for sale of course, or sharpen your bargaining skills in the bazaars. Outside of town is the must-see ancient city of Ephesus, one of the best preserved Greek and Roman cities in all Europe. Set sail under the afternoon sun before arriving at Patmos for a short visit. Explore Patmos independently, or perhaps visit the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Grotto and the Monastery of St. John.
Day 3 (Wed): Rhodes, Greece
Walk from your ship to Rhodes old town. Protected by immaculately preserved medieval walls with seven monumental gates, you’ll find inside an array of shops, boutiques and craft wares alongside numerous cafes and outdoor restaurants. Historically, Rhodes fascinates even a novice traveller with reminders of Christian Knights and Ottoman Turks. Around the island are excellent beaches and other ancient sites, such as Lindos and its impressive Acropolis.
Day 4 (thu): Heraklion, Crete – Santorini, Greece
Heraklion is the largest city on the largest Greek island. The old town held tightly within beautiful Venetian walls is worth your attention, or if you’re up for some sun, beaches are a taxi ride away. Crete was the centre of Minoan civilisation and we highly recommend a visit to Knossos, the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete. Another afternoon of sun-washed cruising brings you to Santorini. Your only way up is by cable car, donkey or 600 steep steps, where you’ll find a white-washed village hanging on the caldera’s edge, and a gentle landscape descending towards black sand beaches.
Day 5 (Fri): Athens (Lavrion), Greece
Early this morning, disembark your ship.
