A visit to Croatia would not be complete without visiting its capital. Leaving the Lika region, we will soon arrive in Zagreb, situated on the fertile plain of the Sava River.  Discover the Upper Town and the old city core of Kaptol, but above all, the vivid life of the Dolac market. You will be able to visit the multicoloured church of St. Mark, the florists in the Dolac marketplace and the Stone Gate and its chapel. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the old gas lamps lining the streets and symbolizing Zagreb's past.  Lunch is followed by a free afternoon for individual visits of numerous galleries or museums. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5:  Zagreb – Postojna – Lipica – Opatija (B/D)
Today will be spent exclusively in Slovenia. We will visit the Postojna cave (one of the biggest and most beautiful in Europe) by a combination of electric train and on foot. After lunch, we will continue on towards Lipica, where our first stop will be a stud farm where Lipizzaner horses have been raised for 400 years. Next we will descend towards the Croatian coast and Opatija, a seaside resort founded by the Austrians at the end of the XIX century and still filled with its old charm. Dinner and overnight.

Lunch is in a tavern in the village of Vrbnik, where you will have the opportunity to taste the famous white wine from Krk – “Vrbnička Žlahtina”.  In the afternoon, we will continue towards the town of Krk.
