Maximise your time in one of the world’s most popular destinations with an incredible afternoon combining Dubai’s rapid development with its rich commercial past. Palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago and architectural marvel, populated with five-star hotels, stylish homes and entertainment attractions. It is in front of the famous Atlantis Hotel that we stop for an opportunity to snap some spectacular pictures before moving on to Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, another icon of luxury hospitality.
We head towards the old quarter, past exclusive residential neighbourhoods on Jumeirah Beach Road, as well as the Jumeirah Mosque and illustrious Zabeel district. and Zabeel Palace, home to His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Dubai Creek represents the historic heart of the city, where trading began in the early 1900s, today it bridges past and present offering splendid skyline views. Al Fahidi Fort was built in the late 18th century to defend against invasion and now plays host to the Dubai Museum, which chronicles the city’s past as a pearl diving and trading hub.Finally, cross the creek on a traditional Abra (water taxi) to enjoy an antiquated shopping experience at Deira’s bustling gold and spice souks, where you can mingle with merchants trading their wares.
