Colombo – Habarana – Trincomalee – Anuradhapura – Colombo
Day 1: Colombo
Arrival at Colombo airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Colombo – Habarana (B)
Morning tour of Colombo to visit Cinnamon Gardens, the Fort and Sea Street, the goldsmith’s quarters in the Pettah area, the Bazaar area, Dutch Church of Wolfendhal and Independence Square. Later you will leave for Habarana.
Day 3: Habarana – Sigiriya – Habarana (B)
A day trip to Sigiriya, home to 5th century Fortress in the Sky, also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to this fortress. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great palace and gardens. Drive back to Habarana for a free afternoon.
Day 4: Habarana – Polonnaruwa – Minneriya – Habarana (B)
A day trip to visit Polonnaruwa, which has some splendid and spectacular statues. Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best examples of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. After this visit, continue for a safari in Minneriya NP to see the biggest gathering of wild elephants, before returning back to Habarana.
Day 5: Habarana - Trincomalee (B)
Depart Habarana for Trincomalee which is on the east coast of Sri Lanka and is a historic town.
Day 6: Trincomalee (B)
In Trincomalee visit Fort Fredrik, Konneswaram Hindu Temple and see the well-known ‘lovers leap' drive back to the hotel in the afternoon and the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 7: Trincomalee (B)
Day at leisure.
Day 8: Trincomalee - Anuradhapura (B)
Leave for the historic ancient capital of Anuradhapura. You will visit key historical locations in this ancient city, from where Sinhalese Kings ruled for over 1000 years. It is the most extensive and important of the Sri Lankan ancient cities, famous for its Temples, Reservoirs, and beautifully landscaped gardens, the ruins of which still remain to this day.
Day 9: Anuradhapura - Colombo (B)
Drive to Colombo and the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 10: Colombo (B)
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight
