Paro – Taktsang Monastery – Jele Dzong Jangchulakha – Jimilangtsho – Simkotra Tsho – Phajoding – Thimphu Paro
 
Day 1: Paro
Arrive the capital city of Paro. Transfer to your hotel where you have the remainder of your day at leisure. 
 
Day 2: Paro - Taktsang Monastery (B)
Today, drive 6km from Paro and hike approx. 2.5 hours to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery. 
 For the Bhutanese Buddhists, this is a holy pilgrimage, however this mystical trek can be experienced by all. For a tourist, a hike up to the viewpoint opposite the monastery is exhausting, yet thrilling and mystical. The Taktsang monastery clings on dauntingly beautiful vertical cliff at 9680ft. 
Once descended, you will be taken on a citywide tour of Paro, visiting Bhutan’s national museum, a fascinating place housed in an old watchtower above the huge Paro Dzong (monastery). This will be followed by visit to Rinpung Dzong - a monastery which is the seat of the district administration as well as the home for the monastic school today. Later visit Drugyel Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang and a typical Bhutanese farm house on the way back.
 
Day 3: Paro - Jele Dzong (B/L/D)
Drive to the trek's official starting point in the morning. Begin your incredible trek along farm roads through local villages and orchards, ascending through the forest to your campsite below Jele Dzong. Spectacular views of Paro Valley and snowcapped mountains will be visible during this leg of the trek. Altitude: 3,350m, Distance: 8 km. Time about 4 hours. 
Experience the real outdoors with overnight camping in tents.
 
Day 4: Jele Dzong – Jangchulakha (B/L/D) 
Today, continue your trek past Jele Dzong, leading you through lush juniper forests and rhododendron trees. Depending on the season, you may be able to witness local Yak herders busy at work.  Altitude: 3550m, Distance: 9km. Time: 5 hours. Overnight in camp. 
 
Day 5: Jangchulakha – Jimi Langtsho (B/L/D)
A long and challenging trek along the undulating ridge. Weather-permitting, you will be able to experience beautiful scenery of the valley below, while continuing the hike past Lake Jimilangtsho (the "Sand Ox Lake").  Distance: 10km, 6-7 hours. Camp at 3850mts. Overnight in camp.

Day 6: Jimilangtsho 
 Simkotra Tsho (Lake) (B/L/D)
Continue your trek with a gradual climb to Lake Jynetsho, stop for lunch, continue for 2 hours to camp area above lake Simkotra. Distance: 7 km, 4 hours (altitude: 3955 mts). Overnight in camp.

Day 7: Simkotra Tsho 
 Phajoding – Thimphu (B/L/D)
Long climb to and a rocky traverse to a group of cairns atop Labana pass at 4210m. Descend to great views of Dochula and Mt. Jomolhari and other mountains, pass a rough stone wall, see prayer flags on a hill above the trail marking a seldom-used sky burial site, drops and cross final ridge,
Phumela pass at 4080m for stunning views of the highest mountain in Bhutan (Mt. Gangkhar Puensum) and other Himalayan peaks, descend with views of Thimphu valley, Juniper and rhododendron bushes to road, drive to Hotel. Distance: 14km, 6-7 hours. (2300mts) Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Thimphu 
 Paro (B/L)
Thimphu tour including Memorial Chorten, traditional weaving centre, paper factory, Changangkha lhakhang, view point and nunnery, folk heritage museum, traditional arts & craft school. If your tour falls on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can also visit the weekend market. Lunch in one of the best restaurants in the town. Late afternoon drive to Paro. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Paro (B)
Airport transfer for your onward flight
NB: Need clear passport copies at least 6 weeks prior to departure to process application for Bhutan Visa. We can assist you with flight to/from Paro from Delhi or Kolkata or road transfers from/to India.
Private program - can start any day of the week and can be modified or operated in reverse
