Small Group Tour
The tour starts in the modern and vibrant city of Shanghai. China's largest city, Shanghai has the best shops and restaurants in the country and the most fashionable people. Transfer to Yangtze River and cruise through the three gorges and the three gorges dam, giving you the opportunity to see some of the most spectacular scenery. Spend 8 days relaxing on a cruise, whilst stopping at traditional settlements and landmarks for day excursions. After disembarking the cruise take bullet train to Chengdu to spend time with China's most recognised animal, the Gain Panda.
Day 1: Shanghai
Arrive at Shanghai Airport, you will be met and transferred to your Hotel
Day 2: Shanghai (B/L/D)
Proceed for Shanghai City tour, the first attraction will be the Yu Yuan Gardens followed by the Jade Buddha Temple. After viewing the Shanghai museum, there will be an opportunity to visit the waterfront attraction of the Bund to admire Shanghai as a modern metropolis. Later, on top of the Shanghai worl financial centre, enjoy breathtaking view of the whole city.
Day 3: Shanghai - Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
Today, you will be transferred to your cruise ship. We will sail upstream, giving you an impressive view of Shanghai
Day 4: Nanjing (B/L/D)
Today's excursion will be a visit to Nanjing, where you can enjoy a tour around the Sun Yat-sen Memorial and a Qing Dynasty style bazaar, which surrounds a Confucian Temple.
Day 5: Jiuhuashan (B/L/D)
Today features a full day excursion to Jiuhuashan or ‘Mountain of the Nine Lotuses’, one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism. The one hundred square km area is known for its quiet beauty, winding paths, waterfalls, streams and ancient temples.
Day 6: Wuhan (B/L/D)
Wuhan, the capital of the Hubei Province, is today’s excursion, which takes place in the evening. You will visit the Hubei Provincial Museum, home to over 200,000 objects, giving you an interesting insight into China’s history and culture.
Day 7: Yangtze River (B/L/D)
Today the ship will continue to sail on the Yangtze river, giving you an opportunity to relax and peacefully enjoy the views aboard the ship.
Day 8: Three Gorges Dam (B/L/D)
This morning, the ship will sail through Gezhou Dam near Yichang. In the afternoon, you will visit the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world, where the ship will sail through the Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges. In the evening, you will have a chance to explore the Three Gorges Dam ship locks.
Day 9: Shennong Stream (B/L/D)
Today you will enter Wu Gorge. The ship will sail through the shortest, narrowest and most dramatic gorge. This will be followed by an excursion through the Shennong Stream Small Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges (Depending on the river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted)
Day 10: Shibaozhai (B/L/D)
Today’s excursion will be Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda, appropriately named “The Pearl of the Yangtze"
Day 11: Chongqing - Chengdu (B/L/D)
Today, you will disembark the ship at the picturesque Chongqing. Then you will be transferred to the train station for a two hour bullet train to Chengdu.
Day 12: Chengdu (B/L/D)
This morning visit the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre, just 6 miles from downtown Chengdu. Afterwards, we will have a city tour to visit Jinli street to see local people’s life.
Day 13: Chengdu (B)
Transfer to Airport for your onward journey
