On this amazing tour you will experience New Zealand the Kiwi way, driving on the scenic route to some incredible destinations. During the  14 day program you will travel around the country and will view the amazing scenery, beautiful people.

Itinerary

Day 1

Auckland

Arrive by flight and transfer to your Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

 

Day 2

Auckland (B)

This morning, you will go for a three-hour panoramic tour of Auckland city, you Travel through the city centre, including Auckland's famous Queen Street, Karangahape Road with its chequered past and eclectic vibe and fashionable Ponsonby. Cross over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf and the city skyline, and visit the Viaduct Harbour and the revitalised Silo Park waterfront precinct. See historic buildings around the University of Auckland before continuing over Grafton Bridge to the Auckland Domain.

Rest of the afternoon is at leisure to explore the city on your own

 

Day 3

Auckland – Hobbiton – Waitomo Caves – Rotorua (B)

This morning depart from Auckland by luxury coach, you travel South through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions.

 

First stop is the Hobbiton Movie Set. During your guided tour you'll see highlights like the original Hobbit Holes, the Green Dragon Inn, the Party Tree and more. You will visit amazing behind-the-scenes stories and fascinating facts about how the film set was brought to life. After you've had your fill of movie magic, sit down to lunch - a delicious feast worthy of a true hobbit - outside the Green Dragon Inn.  Your next stop is at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, a network of underground tunnels and caves made from incredible limestone formations. Set off on a 45-minute guided tour of the caves, ending with a truly special boat trip through the Glowworm Grotto, where glowworms twinkle and shine overhead as you sail through a dark and silent cavern. After exploring these two top New Zealand visitor attractions, you travel to Rotorua arriving in the early evening.

Day 4

Rotorua (B/D)

Today, visit Te Puia, home to Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and the New Zealand Maori Arts & Crafts Centre. Witness all of nature’s thermal wonders including silica terraces and the famous Pohutu Geyser. Afternoon is at leisure to explore the city at your own. This evening visit Tamaki Village for of fun and culture. You will experience a traditionally prepared Maori Hangi (feast) followed by a cultural performance featuring Maori songs, chants and dance including the stirring haka.

Day 4

Rotorua – Napier (B)

Today, depart Rotorua and travel to Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest freshwater lake famous for its Rainbow Trout. Have some free time to enjoy the beauty of the Lake. From Taupo we travel to the region of Hawkes Bay, renowned for its red wines and the Art Deco city of Napier.

Day 6

Napier – Wellington (B)

This morning depart on a Napier Sightseeing & Wine Tour.  A City Overview Sightseeing Tour including History, the rebuilding of the City in Art Deco, and the changes resulting in today's Napier. We will also visit a winery for the purpose of Wine tasting different varieties of local wine. Take an Intercity coach from Napier to Wellington. On arrival in Wellington, you will be transferred to you Hotel.

 

Day 7

Wellington (B)

Full day at leisure to explore on your own

Day 8

Wellington – Picton – Christchurch (B)

Transfer to the Interislander ferry for crossing of Cook Strait. The journey passes through the beautiful Marlborough Sounds. On arrival into Picton you connect with the Coastal Pacific train that will take you along the Pacific Ocean coastline passing by Kaikoura and then inland through undulating hill country to Christchurch. 

Please note: between May & mid September the Coastal Pacific Train will not be operating (closed for winter season). Travel during this period will be by Coach.

Day 9

Christchurch – Queenstown (B)

Today, travel south following the foothills of the Southern Alps to Mount Cook village via Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. You will have free time at Mount Cook Village before continuing on to Queenstown travelling via the Lindis Pass and the Kawarau Gorge. 

Day 10

Queenstown – Milford Sound – Queenstown (B/L)

Today you will be taken for Milford Sound day tour. Take an unforgettable journey into the heart of Milford Sound, New Zealand's most famous tourist destination. You'll experience the world-famous fiord in all its natural glory – surrounded by dense rainforest, glacier-carved valleys and beautiful waterfalls.

 

Day 11

Queenstown (B)

Full day is at leisure

 

We have included the Skyline Gondola in your tour. There are dozens of activities from white water rafting, jetboating, bungy jumping, sky diving, lake cruises and excellent walking trails. Please ask at time of booking if you would like us to book additional activities

 

Day 12

Queenstown – Fox Glacier (B)

Today leave Queenstown and travel to the West Coast passing through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea before climbing over the Haast Pass into the Westland National Park. The Haast Pass is our southern most pass that traverses the Southern Alps linking the East Coast with the West Coast.

Day 13

Fox Glacier (B)

Today we have included 2 shuttle transfers you can book timings at your leisure. The glacier  shuttle will drop you at the Fox Glacier carpark where you can take a stroll to the lookout point. 
 

Day 14

Fox Glacier – Greymouth – Christchurch (B)

Today, travel north through lush rainforests and spectacular scenery to Greymouth where we transfer on to the world famous Tranz Alpine train. A remarkable journey of little more than four hours from the West Coast to the East Coast including the lush rainforest of the Arthur's Pass National Park. Pass through the Southern Alps via the Otira Tunnel, cross massive viaducts over the Waimakariri Gorge descending to the fertile farmlands of the Canterbury Plains and on to the "Garden City" of Christchurch.

 

On arrival at Christchurch, you can add optional extras which can be added to this tour or transfer to airport for your flight back home.

Private program - can start any day of the week and can be modified or operated in reverse
