Istanbul - Cannakale - Kusadasi - Pamukkale – Cappadocia – Istanbul

Discover the wonders of Turkey on this 10-day tour which starts in cosmopolitan Istanbul and visit the Gallipoli Battlefields, Troy, Pergamum and Ephesus before heading inland to see the natural wonders of Pamukkale and Cappadocia with its lunar-like landscape.

Itinerary

Day 1

Saturday: Istanbul

Arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

Sunday: Istanbul (B)

Today go for a half-day guided tour of the Istanbul, the only city to span two continents and visit the Blue Mosque, St Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome.

Day 3

Monday: Istanbul - Gallipoli Battlefields - Canakkale (B/D)

Drive to Canakkale, Enroute visit the WW1 battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, The Nek, Johnston's Jolly, original trenches and tunnels. Continue the drive to Canakkale.

Day 4

Tuesday: Canakkale – Kusadasi (B/D)

Drive to Troy and its famed Trojan Horse, followed by a tour of the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum.  Later drive to Kusadasi for overnight.

Day 5

Wednesday: Kusadasi (B/D)

Full day guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Continue to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines.

 

Day 6

Thursday: Kusadasi – Pamukkale (B/D)

Drive to Travertines, in Pamukkale and later tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. If time permits take a dip, amongst ancient columns, in the hot springs that were used in Roman times.

Day 7

Friday: Pamukkale – Konya - Cappadocia (B/D)

Depart for Cappadocia, en-route visit the Sultanhani Caravansary and the Mevlana Museum in Konya along the way. Later drive to Cappadocia for overnight.

 

Day 8

Saturday: Cappadocia (B/D)

Today visit the Goreme Valley Open Air Museum and the fairy chimneys and explore the many levels of an underground city. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 9

Sunday: Cappadocia – Ankara – Istanbul (B)

Drive to the nation's capital, Ankara, on arrival visit the Anitkabir, the mausoleum of the famed Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Later drive to Istanbul for overnight.

Day 10

Monday: Istanbul (B)

Transfer to the airport.
