Itinerary

Day 1

Bangkok – Rayong (L)

Depart for Rayong, a province along Thailand's eastern Gulf coastline where fertile wetlands, fishing villages and coastal forests have shaped local life for centuries. As you leave the city behind, the scenery gradually changes to rolling countryside, fruit orchards, coconut groves and peaceful coastal landscapes, offering a glimpse of a slower pace of life.

Upon arrival, discover one of Thailand's most remarkable wetland ecosystems, often referred to as the "Thai Everglades." Board a traditional sampan for a peaceful cruise through this rich biosphere, gliding past colourful lotus ponds before entering the enchanting golden mangrove forests. Continue with a scenic boat excursion and a walk along an elevated boardwalk, where these unique mangroves reveal their vital role in protecting the coastline and supporting the region's rich biodiversity.

Later, arrive at your riverside homestay in the historic fishing village of Pak Nam Prasae. Dating back to the Ayutthaya period, this charming coastal settlement has long thrived on fishing and trade thanks to its strategic location between the Prasae River and the Gulf of Thailand. Today, it remains a welcoming community where traditional livelihoods, local culture and a close connection to the sea continue to define daily life.

Day 2

Rayong – Chonburi – Koh Si Chang (B,L)

Begin the day with a guided exploration of Pak Nam Prasae alongside a former fisherman, whose personal stories offer a fascinating insight into the village's maritime heritage and the traditions that continue to shape local life. Travel through the community by traditional tricycle, following quiet streets along the Prasae River and the canals that connect the village to the Gulf of Thailand. Along the way, admire the changing scenery as bustling fishing piers give way to peaceful waterways, riverside homes, mangrove-lined banks and historic temples that reflect the rich cultural heritage of this centuries-old settlement.

After checking out, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Chonburi Province. The landscape gradually transforms once again, from Thailand's eastern coastline to open countryside, passing fruit orchards, agricultural fields and rural villages.

Continue with a leisurely bicycle ride through the peaceful countryside of Chonburi Province, following dedicated cycle paths and quiet rural roads. As you pedal through gently changing landscapes, pass fertile farmland, small villages, local temples and orchards that offer a glimpse into everyday life beyond Thailand's bustling cities. This relaxed ride provides an opportunity to experience the region at a slower pace, observing local communities, traditional agriculture and the tranquil scenery that characterises much of Thailand's eastern countryside.

Continue to Koh Si Chang by public ferry before transferring by local truck or tricycle to your hotel.

Day 3

Koh Si Chang - Bangkok (B)

After breakfast, set out by Skylab, Koh Si Chang's open-air local tricycle, for a relaxed island exploration. Enjoy sea views and the island's easy-going atmosphere while travelling between viewpoints, cultural sites and historic landmarks.

Visit the former royal summer residence and learn about the island's past through its ancient fortifications and cultural heritage. The route offers a pleasant mix of coastal scenery, local character and history.

Return to the hotel for refreshments and check-out. Afterwards, take the ferry back to the mainland and transfer to Bangkok for your onwards journey.
