Itinerary

Day 1

Amman

Arrival and transfer to hotel.

Day 2

Amman (B)

This morning you will visit the hilltop town of As-Salt. In the afternoon descend out of the hills to the Baptism Site at Bethany, where John baptised Jesus Christ. Several churches, caves and pools dating from Roman and Byzantine periods have been discovered here. In the evening return back to Amman.

Day 3

Amman (B)

You will go for a full-day tour of Amman, the first visit will be the Citadel - the former home of the ancient Temple ofHercules, then onto The Umayyad Palace and the Byzantine Church. Later drive to Jerash, one of the largest and best-preserved Roman sites outside of Italy.  Your final stop is the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth for bathing in its Unsinkable Waters, before your return to Amman.

Day 4

Amman – Petra (B)

Depart for Madaba, on arrival, enjoy great views of Israel from Mt. Nebo, and visit Kerak Castle, one in a chain of Crusader fortresses built across the Jordan in the 12th Century, continue to Petra.

Day 5

Petra – Aqaba (B/D)

Full day exploring Petra through The winding gorge to a Magnificent city carved out of rose-red rock 2000 years ago by the Nabatean Arabs, continue to Aqaba, Jordan’s Red Sea Resort, where you can rest, relax, and overnight.

Day 6

Aqaba (B)

Morning time at leisure, afternoon set out for an excursion to Wadi Rum desert and explore with a 4x4WD jeeps the largest and most magnificent of Jordan’s landscape, return to Amman for overnight.

Day 7

Aqaba - Amman (B)

Depart for Amman and head east to visit several of Jordan's Desert Castles. These 'castles' were located on the old trade routescreated during the Umayyad era and are more a combination of forts, bathhouses and palaces than true castles.  On arrival in Amman, explore the back streets on own.

Day 8

Amman (B)

Transfer to the airport.
