Athens Walking City Tour with Acropolis

The tour begins in front of the Parliament in Syntagma Square where you will see the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and the change of the famous Guards. A pleasant walk will follow through the National Garden and on to the Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian's Arch. From here you will enter the Plaka area heading to the Acropolis and visit with your guide the Propylaea, the Temple of Nike, and the Parthenon, the monuments that remind us of Glory of Ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles. See also in the surrounding the Athenian Agora, the Observatory, the Hill of Democracy (Pnyx), Mars and Philoppapos Hill, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Theater of Dionysus. After lunch drive along the coastal road, passing the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza to the most Southern point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon stand. On the way, you have a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the little islands offshore. After visiting the Temple of Poseidon, you have time to walk at leisure on the rocky promontory of Sounion.
Cape Sounion in the afternoon

Delphi Day Trip
0845 hrs – 1900 hrs
Drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing the towns of Thebes connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus -Levadia and Arachova (short stop on the way back). Arrive at Delphi, the center of the ancient world - the “Omphalos” (Navel of Earth) – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo, the most famous oracle of the ancient world. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing masterpieces of the ancient Greek sculpture such as the bronze Charioteer, the famous athlete Aghias and the Sphinx. Lunch in the modern village of Delphi, and return back to Athens by the same route.
Day Trip to Nafplio & Mycenae

A unique full day trip in the province of Argolis!
We leave from Athens joining the coastal road until the first stop in the Corinth Canal, a unique technical achievement of the 19th century, connecting the Ionian with the Aegean Sea (short stop). Then we drive to Mycenae, the citadel of one of the oldest prehistorical civilizations famous all around the world for the story of the Trojan War. This is the place from where the greeks had set off for the expedition in Troy in order to get back beautiful Helene and where the golden mask of Agamemnon was found. We will see the famous Lion’s Gate, the monumental entrance, the Cyclopean Walls and the Treasury of Atreus, a monumental structure for the burial of the King. Before we depart for Nafplio, we will have a lunch break qt Mycenae.
The next destination is Nafplio, Napoli di Romania, one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. We will stroll around the alleys of the first capital of Greece, we will admire the local architecture, the great venitian castle of Palamidi and the stronghold of Bourtzi and the cathedral of Saint George. After a short walking tour, you will have free time on your own to enjoy the city. In the afternoon, we return back to Athens full of colorful images and unique smells.
Ancient Corinth
0845 - 1400 hrs
Leave Athens and drive southwest until we reach the Corinth Canal that connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Drive on and visit the ancient town of Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. The remains of the City, which include the Agora (market place) and Apollo's Temple (6th century B.C.) clearly show how rich and important Corinth was in Ancient Times. A short stop at the site of the Ancient Port of Cehrees, where St. Paul disembarked, will conclude the visit. Return back to Athens in time to have lunch
