Amsterdam Arrival 07:30 – Departure 23:00.
Excursion of the day - City tour and canal ride in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is quite small when compared to other cities of the world, but it has many advantages of a metropolis – historic and magnificent buildings and places of interest, famous museums and a pronounced nightlife. The ride takes you through the new and old districts, to the Koninklijk Paleis (Royal Palace), to the “Weeper's Tower” (retired and only preserved defence tower) to the wooden " Skinny Bridge " on the Amstel and the cathedral in the heart of the city. Afterwards you will see the most beautiful canals (from about 165 in total) and magnificent bridges (1,281 bridges in total and 80 just in the “Grachtengürtel”(canal section).
Or Evening canal ride in Amsterdam.
In the evening, Amsterdam offers fantastic views of the atmospherically lit city. See it for yourself! The network of navigable waterways of Amsterdam has a total length of over 80 kilometres. These include the “Herengracht”, the “Keizersgracht” and the “Prinsengracht”. The Amsterdam canals traverse the city in several rings and spanned by numerous bridges, just not an everyday sight!
Day 3
Rotterdam Arrival 06:00 Departure 22:00.
Rotterdam Arrival 06:00 Departure 22:00.
Excursion of the day – City and harbor Tour in Rotterdam
The dynamic Harbour City of Rotterdam awaits with many attractions, such as for example the Town Hall, the Erasmus bridge (nicknamed "the Swan") and the “Kubuswoningen” (Cube house). After a little free time in the City centre enjoy a boat tour with a breath taking view of the skyline of Rotterdam, passing by “Ocean giants” and ship yards as well as the Cruise ship „Rotterdam “which is located by the half island “Katendrecht” since 2008 and serves as a museum and hotel ship right now.
Or The Hague and Delft.
The bus takes you to the capital of the province of South Netherlands. The Hague is also the Parliament and the seat of Government of the Netherlands, as well as the seat of the International Court of Justice. The city never formally received its city rights and therefore is also called the "largest village in the world". After the city tour, it continues on to the porcelain town of Delft, which is best known for the "Delft blue". The old town has numerous monuments that bear witness to its past as a thriving trading city in the golden age. Despite a severe town fire in the 16th century and a devastating explosion of the gun magazine in the 17th century, who spared only a few buildings, Delft has a well preserved, covered by canals through the historical cityscape that didn’t loose the typical character of an Old Dutch city.
Day 4
Antwerp Arrival 08:00.
Antwerp Arrival 08:00.
Excursion of the day - City tour of Antwerp
Visit the residence and working place of the artist Peter Paul Rubens (1577 - 1640) as well as other interesting attractions. These include the impressive Gothic Cathedral (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal) with its 123-metre-high North Tower. Visit the Town Hall and the “Grote” market with its numerous Guild houses from the 16th and 17th century, as well as the “Brabo” fountain, located in the middle of the square. After a private walk through the town, the bus takes you back to the ship.
or City tour of Bruges.
The medieval centre of Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage since 2000. The old city area is surrounded by a “wall system “, with windmills and canals. Because war or large fires never destroyed Bruges, the medieval city structure and historical buildings are very well intact. Discover this picturesque town with its canals, beautiful town gates, churches, such as for example the Basilica of the Holy Blood (location of a vial with the blood of Christ), the 'Grote' market with the belfry of Bruges, the Beguinage, the Church of our Lady with the Bruges Madonna by Michelangelo, as well as the Town Hall.
Day 5
Antwerp Departure 18:00.
Antwerp Departure 18:00.
Excursion of the day - City tour of Brussels
In Brussels, the capital of Belgium is the headquarters of the European Union and the NATO. This city has much to offer, for example, the Atomium (landmark of the Expo'58), the Castle “Laken” with Castle Park, the Chinese pavilion, the Japanese tower, the Parliament and the law courts (Palais de Justice) with an altitude of 116 metres and a surface area 26,000 square meters on gallows Hill. A landmark in Brussels is the Grand place with the Gothic town hall, the Maison “du Roi” or “Broodhuis”, the gold ornate Guild houses, as well as the famous fountain statue „Manneken Pis“. The statue is dressed from time to time. So, it will be dressed for special occasions, for example with a team jersey on national soccer games, or on the birthdays of Elvis Presley or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. On World AIDS Day, it will be equipped with condoms. There are more than 850 different costumes.
Or Harbor Antwerp incl. beer tasting.
The next trip on this day will take you to the harbour district of Antwerp, the largest port in Belgium and the third largest of Europe. Take a slightly different look at the world-famous waterfront. The port of Antwerp stretches on an area of 130,57 square kilometres, which 72,39 square kilometres on the right bank and 58,18 square kilometres on the left bank of the river “Schelde”. It extends on a surface of 22 square kilometres. 400 kilometres of roads and 1113 kilometres of railways are used for the arrival and departure of all kinds of handled goods.
Day 6
Nijmegen Arrival 08:00 – Departure 14:00.
Nijmegen Arrival 08:00 – Departure 14:00.
Excursion of the day – City tour of Nijmegen.
The Latin name for the Hanseatic City Nijmegen is "Noviomagus" and reminiscent of the Roman past of the city. Very well worth seeing is the „Stevenskerk“ or the „Grote kerk“ (large church), the historical main church, which is named after the holly protomartyr Stephanus. Worth a visit are also the “Valkhof” with the Barbarossa ruins (formerly Roman and Carolingian buildings) and the St. Nicholas Chapel. Also, there are still remains of the wall: the Belvedère and the Crown Castle Tower (Kruittoren) in the Kronenburgerpark”.
