Surya Lanka situated on the extreme south coast on beach front offers perfect location in which to obtain both physical and mental well-being whist enjoying a tropical beach holiday. Established in 1995, Surya Lanka is the first ayurveda beach resort to cater exclusively for panchakarma cure guest in Sri Lanka.
Ayurveda treatments incorporate a scientific system of medicine aimed to improve and restore total well-being through cleansing and rejuvenation – Panchakarma. This traditional method of detoxification removes the cause of an illness and corrects the imbalance of the 3 bio-energies of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The sequence of treatments is organized according to the ayurvedic principles of:
1. Purvakarma (Pre-treatment): This stage includes steam and massage with specific oils, which transports toxic substances within the body to places from which they can be expelled via the natural body opening during the cleansing process.
2. Pradhanakarma (Primary-treatment): The actual elimination of the toxic substances
3. Pashtatakarma (Post-treatment): Includes dietary adjustments, regeneration therapies and medicines.
Surya Lanka offer 3 levels of Panchakarma cure, this includes:
Light Cure: This is less intensive cure with more time for leisure. The cleansing treatments are administered in a shorter, milder version and massages are fewer. For guest with medical complications – they need to take the intensive or Heil-cure level.
Intensive Cure: This level of cure delivers a complete detoxification of the body. Treatment schedule for this level is between 2 – 3 weeks, there are number of treatments according to the 3 stages of Purvakarma.
Heil Cure: This is an intense cure for guests with multiple medical ailments with specific treatments, more medicines and closer monitoring and supervision is carried out by the doctors. Dietary adjustment is done to assist the alleviation/cure of the disease.
Surya Lanka ensures Panchakarma cure is result oriented, responsive to each guest’s needs and medical condition and administered by a team of well trained and highly professional caring doctors and therapists.
Along with the Ayurveda treatments, yoga is an essential element in promoting harmony of mind, body and soul. There are yoga classes through the week that are held either on the open-air swimming pool deck or in the yoga hall.
